My research expertise is the design, synthesis and characterization of fluorinated organic molecules – such as those below.

As well as their obvious aesthetic appeal, these novel fluorocarbons (and their numerous derivatives) find a multitude of commercial and industrial applications including chiral ligands, micron thin film and polymer coatings for computer chips, anhydrous electrolytes for new electric battery design and lubricants, to name but a few.
